Last week we have shared our favorite gaming console emulators for Android and we feel that it’s time to dive into some real gaming with these emulators. As an avid gamer, mentioning only the name of the emulator is not enough, so here we are, sharing the best games for PPSSPP emulator.

These are the games we tested and found excellent in terms of performance and gameplay on an Android version of PPSSPP. To make things easier we will also share our own settings for each games so that you can get the best performance out of your PPSSPP. Best PPSSPP Emulator Games for Android

#1 DragonballZ Tenkaichi Tag Team

DragonballZ is an epic franchise with a large fan club and has been dominating the gaming sector as well. There are few DBZ games for PSP but the DBZTTT is an awesome 3D experience with excellent fighting controls and no wonder it is the first game on our list. You can enjoy unlimited fighting in the DBZ universe with cool graphical effects and almost all the characters from the franchise.

Best Settings:

Rendering Mode – For most of the devices the ‘Non-buffered rendering’ works great for this game but you can try ‘buffered-rendering’ if you own device with Snapdragon 820.

Frameskip– This game worked flawlessly on lower end devices like Galaxy Grand with zero frameskip so it is highly recommended to keep it at zero. If you are noticing slow gameplay, then you can try increasing the value

Rendering Resolution – For higher end devices you can keep it on ‘ 2xPSP’ or more however for lower end devices keep it at ‘1xPSP’.

More Settings

Only try these settings if you are noticing slow gameplay.

  • Turn on ‘Lazy Texture caching’
  • Turn on ‘Disable slower effects’
  • Keep the ‘Spline/Bezier Curves quality’ on low
  • Try ‘Timer Hack’ (useful for low FPS games)

If you own a Quad core CPU device with higher RAM then you can tweak some more settings in system category.

  • Turn on ‘Multithreaded’
  • Try ‘Fast Memory’

#2 NFS Most Wanted

A hardcore gamer has definitely tried all the Need for Speed games but for most of them, NFS Most Wanted is the best and evergreen game in the series. Almost all the fun and excitement of street racing has been ported on PSP and with the help of PPSSPP, we can enjoy it on Android. Oh! I forgot to mention that the game contains all the classic soundtracks as well.

Best Settings:

Rendering Mode – ‘Non-buffered’ rendering is recommended.

Frameskip– To have a smooth gaming experience the Frameskip should be set between one to two depending on your device.

Rendering Resolution – For higher end devices you can keep it on ‘2xPSP’ or more however for lower end devices keep it at ‘1xPSP’.

More Settings

Only try these settings if you are noticing slow gameplay.

  • Turn on ‘Lazy Texture caching’
  • Turn on ‘Disable slower effects’
  • Keep the ‘Spline/Bezier Curves quality’ on low
  • Try ‘Timer Hack’ (useful for low FPS games)

If you own a Quad core CPU device with higher RAM, then you can tweak some more settings

  • Turn on ‘Multithreaded’
  • Try ‘Fast Memory’ (recommended for this Game)

If everything else fails, you can try turning off the audio to get a performance boost.

#3 Prince of Persia Revelations

PSP port of one of the popular games on Playstation2 and PC which offer acrobatic skills of our beloved prince with addictive fighting mechanisms. Almost all the Prince of Persia fans were disappointed because there was no real port of this beast on Android. No need to worry now as we can enjoy all the time traveling adventure of Prince of Persia on our Android with PPSSPP.

Best Settings:

Rendering Mode – ‘Non-buffered’ rendering is recommended.

Frameskip– This game works great with ‘Auto Frameskip’ on some devices or you can set it up to two.

Rendering Resolution – It is highly recommended to have a rendering resolution ‘1xPSP’

Display Resolution (HW Scaler)– Set it to ‘1xPSP’.

These settings are recommended for this game.

  • Play with texture ‘Lazy Texture caching’
  • Activate ‘Disable slower effects’
  • Turn off ‘Anisotropic Filtering’
  • Set ‘Texture Scaling’ to ‘Nearest’
  • Turn on ‘Texture coord Speedhack’
  • Keep the ‘Spline/Bezier Curves quality’ on low
  • try enabling ‘Timer Hack’
  • ‘Multithreaded’ must be ON
  • Turn on ‘Fast Memory’

Try disabling sounds to get a performance boost if needed.

#4 Virtua Tennis: World Tour

Another game that you can try on PPSSPP is Virtua Tennis. If you are looking for a game which you can play for hours with stepwise incremental difficulty, then Virtue Tennis is for you. The controls are intuitive and can be easily grasped even by a newcomer. The graphics are detailed and clean and there is nothing to complain about. All in all, you must try Virtua Tennis on your Android and we promise that you won’t be disappointed at all.

#5 FIFA Street 2

FIFA street uses the same gaming engine in a different environment with some tweaks in gaming styles over normal FIFA games. FIFA Street 2 is an awesome game on PSP with very good analog stick controls and quick gameplay. You can definitely enjoy scoring goals in this smooth gameplay on your Android with the help of PPSSPP.

Rendering Mode – ‘Non-buffered’ rendering is recommended.

Frameskip– set it to either one or two depending on your device.
